Scenes from Georgia Ave

4:30 AM. Walking Home. Had a few drinks.

Female Crackhead: Can you do me a favor?
Me: Yes. Wait. Maybe
Crackhead: Ha! You said maybe! Can you help me out?
Me: I don't have any money.
Crackhead: I just saw you come from the bank!
Me: I just deposited all my money into the bank. Sorry.
Crackhead: How about some change?
Me: Maybe I can help you out with some change.
Byron opens wallet. Crackhead peers in furtively. Sees the 50 dollar bill that the BoA ATM would not accept.
Crackhead: I see some green!
Me: That's way too big a bill for me to give to you.
Crackhead (eyes wide): Can you break it? For a soda, for a soda???
Me: I gave you enough change for a soda.
Crackhead: For the bus, for the bus! They do charge me for the bus.
Me: I just gave you enough quarters for the bus!
Crackhead: Please please.
Me: Do you want my Smartrip card? That'll get you on the bus.
Crackhead: Can you break it, can you break it?
Me: Come on, yo. Fair is fair. I gave you some change. I gotta go.

The things you see when you haven't got your gun.
